Kaka Keepsake
A delightful piece depicting the Kaka’s strong stature and stunning hues of browns, orange and iridescent greens.
Although quite a rare native bird to spot, I have had the privilege of sighting Kaka on several occasions. When I was young at our family property in Kumeu, Auckland; and most recently whilst visiting Waiheke Island, where they are quite large in number.
The branch is another feature that is carried out through this series. Each having its own unique depth, shape and natural complexity, achieved through the interplay between colour and texture.
