Harakeke

The Harakeke Flower or flax flower commonly seen throughout New Zealand during late October - February.

This work highlights the uniqueness and bold form of the harakeke flower and stem. A common sight over the New Zealand landscape. A robust plant species, that provides nectar to the tui, bellbirds, saddleback, koromako and many types of insects.

With contrasting background hues of blues and silver, against the elegant black stems and orange/yellow flowers, commands interest and appeal within any environment.
